- Alcatraz Seafoods® is looking for someone who
shares our passion for excellence. We want you to take ownership of your
department, training, motivating and scheduling staff; place orders for
seafood products to meet customer demand and exceed sales goals; answer
questions; inventories and controlling shrinkage, maintaining exceptional
product knowledge as well as merchandising and visuals and effectively
training staff to uphold these expectations. The Retail Manager will also
hold departmental meetings and be responsible for timely management and
staff reviews, conduct in store sampling and preparation instruction
materials; and be an important part of our company's leadership team.
Culinary experience would be a definite asset.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- -2+ years’ retail experience in customer relations
or sales

decision-making skills

safe food handling practices and "Serv-Safe" compliant.

Outside Sales Representative / Marketing
Associate
JOB SUMMARY:
-
Receives (by face to face contact) orders, requests for quotations, and
lead times from customers. Writes orders, acquires new accounts (by
actively cold-calling) and relays pertinent product and order information
to customers. Prepare, issue and deliver sales materials and promotional
programs directly to existing and prospective customers. Coordinates with
other departments in handling purchase orders, samples and providing
service to customers and prospective accounts.
This is a base+ commission position which will eventually lead to
commission only.
Performs duties as an outside sales consultant where customer
contact, account acquisition and product marketing are prime
responsibilities.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Actively engages prospective and existing customers by consultative
selling, product cuttings, demonstrations and product marketing to
assigned territory. Achieves and maintains rapport with customers and
works to give them the best possible service.

Uses a computer to retrieve customer information, inventory availability,
the status of purchase orders, and to make changes on customer purchase
orders. Ensures that correct codes are used for retrieving and inputting
information.

Follows up on inquiries by checking for delivery information. Works
closely with expeditor in production control regarding deliveries of
scheduled shipments.

Anticipates and handles the needs of customers and prospects within
assigned territory.

Acquires and maintains accounts by keeping a regular call sheet and
contact with customers.

Drives leads/revenue and margins through multiple channels and campaigns
featuring “Hot Sheets”, partners, email, fax and other methods.

Develop and execute an effective account penetration program by sampling,
demonstrating and actively marketing to existing and prospective accounts.

Prepare, issue and deliver sales materials and promotional programs.

Maintains files of accounts, prospect sheets, sample requests and action
plans.

Develops and prepares sales and marketing materials as necessary for
increased revenues and account acquisition.

Represents the organization at various community and/or business meetings;

Drive and maintain double-digit growth through various marketing efforts,
account penetration, acquisition, proper account management and customer
care.

Coordinates with the Inside Sales Coordinator and Vice President of
Business Development in the management of existing and prospective
accounts, which includes the timely delivery of prospect sheets, actions
plans, sample program and problem resolution; generates and constantly
evaluates sales leads by making cold calls on prospective customers;
assists to motivate other sales representatives and employees to achieve
peak productivity and performance.

Handles and maintains account receivables by collecting overdue funds when
necessary.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED:

Supervised by Inside Sales Coordinator and the Vice President of Business

Performs semi-routine duties where some judgment is required when
communicating with customers, sales representatives, and inter-company
personnel. Work is performed under defined and uniform procedures.
RESPONSIBILITY AND AUTHORITY:

Reasonable care of authorized operation of company equipment such as
machinery and Computer Terminal.

Failure to handle customers tactfully could result in cancellation and
subsequent loss of good will and profit. Some loss is possible, but
exercise of somewhat more than ordinary care can prevent loss.

Responsible for maintaining good customer relations. Generally deals with
representatives and customers concerning matters that require some tact
and resourcefulness. Contacts with other personnel including delivery,
processing, accounting and packing departments.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

High school diploma or equivalent, plus one year of training.

This position requires an organized individual with good computer skills
and the ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
- One
year in an outside sales position. Computer skills and knowledge of MS
Office (Minimally Word, Outlook) and MS Publisher necessary.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work
effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.

Ability to create, compose and edit effective written sales and marketing
materials.

Previous background should include knowledge of outside sales as well as
